for the U.A. Softball
Invitational Slow Pitch Tournament
1. RULES On Friday
June 13th, 2008, each team must have a representative
attend a
meeting for the tournament at Riverstar Park. B and C
Divisions will meet at 11:30 a.m. A Division will meet at 2:00
p.m.
The
Umpire-In-Chief will review the rules for the tournament. Games
shall be
played under the rules adopted by the U.S.S.S.A. except for
rules
which are adopted by the U.A. Tournament Committee. These
rules
should be in the Managers possession at game time.
NOTE:
a) Pitch count - USSSA rule - 3 balls for a walk, 2 strikes for an
out, with one
free foul. A second foul ball with 1 strike is an
out. Tournament
Committee reserves the right to use 1 pitch if
necessary, due
to inclement weather or other conditions.
b) Home runs - 9
per game in A Division
5 per game in B Division
3 per
game in C Division
c) No metal
spikes will be allowed
d) An official
game will be declared after Four Innings if there is a fifteen run
spread. Five innings if there is a ten run spread. This rule will
apply to all games.
2. ELIGIBILITY All team
members must be members or indentured apprentices of the
United
Association and carry union cards.
3. ROSTERS Players
limited to 20. Managers and coaches who play are considered
players. Prior to playing the first game, rosters must be turned in
at the
field
to the Tournament Committee.
4. PROTEST All protests
must be filed immediately with the umpire on the field. No
play
will resume until protest is ruled on. All protests must be
accompanied with a $10.00 cash fee, which will be returned if
protest
is
won. Protests will be decided by the Umpire-in-Chief.
5. HOME TEAM Coin-flip will
determine the home team
6. SCOREKEEPERS Official scorekeepers
will be provided for each game. Line-up cards
will
be furnished and must be turned in to the scorekeeper 10 minutes
before
game time. First and last names must be shown on line-up card.
7. RAIN For
field conditions call Riverstar Park @ 513-684-1062 or
513-232-4263. When you
call;
leave a phone number where your team can be reached to be
notified of any changes in the tournament schedule.
8. TROPHIES ALL
DIVISIONS: Team trophies will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd
& 3rd
place
team. An MVP trophy
and a home run trophy for Most Home
runs
hit out of the park.
9. OPENING Opening
ceremonies will be Friday @ 12:15 pm.
10. A DIVISION The first team
eliminated from the A Division Tournament may be
placed in the B Division Tournament next year.
11. B DIVISION The top two
returning teams of the B Division Tournament will be
placed in the A Division Tournament next year. Teams that are
winless in the B Division Tournament may be placed in the C
Division Tournament next year, if they request to do so and if
there
is
room in the C Division.
12. C DIVISION The only teams
that are automatically in the C Division next year
are teams under
500 in the C Division this year. Teams that qualify for C may
play up in B Division if they request to do so.

RULES &
REGULATIONS
·
There are 3 divisions - A, B & C - a new team automatically starts
in the C-Division if they dont play competitively. If they do play
competitively, they can possibly be put in the B-Division.
·
Coaches - a team can have as many coaches as they want
·
Players - 9 minimum or 10 players with four outfielders. If you
have eleven, you can bat with an additional hitter. Usually there
are 18 to 20 players including coaches on a team.
·
No
metal spikes
·
Uniforms - all teams that play, usually have matching uniforms &
hats with the union # and city or trade on the shirt
·
Ball core is made of 44375 (elite/44/core/400 compression) and is a
restricted flight ball
·
Bats are USSSA approved (the only illegal bat is a Mikenall Ultra 2)
